All the people were arguing throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, “The king delivered us out of the hand of our enemies, and he saved us out of the hand of the Philistines. But now he has fled from the land from Absalom.


Then the woman went to all the people in her wisdom. They cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and threw it out to Joab. He blew the trumpet, and they were dispersed from the city, every man to his tent. Then Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king.


Now there was long war between Saul’s house and David’s house. David grew stronger and stronger, but Saul’s house grew weaker and weaker.


Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and said, “Look, we are your bone and your flesh.


Hᴇ will judge among the nations. Hᴇ will heap up dead bodies. Hᴇ will crush the ruler of the whole earth.


You have delivered me from the hostility of the people. You have made me the head of the nations. A people I had not known will serve me.


Ask of me, and I will give the nations as your inheritance, the ends of the earth as your possession.


Look, I have given him for a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander to the peoples.


Look, you will call a nation that you don’t know; and a nation that didn’t know you will run to you, because of YHWH your God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he has glorified you.”


For that nation and kingdom that will not serve you will perish; Those nations will be ruined-ruined.

As he says also in Hosea, “I will call those who were not my people, ‘my people’ and her who was not beloved, ‘beloved.’”


YHWH will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of YHWH your God which I command you today and are careful to do them.


The seventh angel trumpeted, and great sounds in heaven followed, saying, “The empire of the world has become the empire of our Lord and of his Christ. He will reign for ever and ever!”
