David said to Ittai, “Go and march-march.” Ittai the Gittite and all his men and all the little ones who were with him passed over.


Elijah said to Elisha, “Please wait here, for YHWH has sent me as far as Bethel.” Elisha said, “As YHWH lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they went down to Bethel.


Elijah said to him, “Elisha, please stay here, for YHWH has sent me to Jericho.” But he said, “As YHWH lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So they came to Jericho.


Elijah said to him, “Please wait here, for YHWH has sent me to the Jordan.” He said, “As YHWH lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” Then they both went on.


The boy’s mother said, “As YHWH lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you.” So he arose, and followed her.


A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity.


A person of many friends may be ruined, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.


When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he rejoiced and exhorted them all to remain true to the Lord with purpose in their hearts.

Now therefore, my lord, as YHWH lives and as your soul lives, since YHWH has withheld you from blood guiltiness and from avenging yourself with your own hand, now therefore let your enemies and those who seek evil to my lord be as Nabal.
