For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians to hear the sound of chariots and the sound of horses, even the noise of a great army; and they said to one another, “Look, the king of Israel has hired the kings of the Hittites and Egyptians to attack us.”


“‘The prince who is among them will bear his baggage on his shoulder in the dark, and will go out. They will dig through the wall to carry things out that way. He will cover his face, because he will not see the land with his eyes.


“‘However the firstborn among animals, which belongs to YHWH as a firstborn, no man may dedicate, whether an ox or a sheep. It is YHWH’s.


But anyone is too poor to pay your valuation, then the person must be set before the priest, and the priest is to assign a value to the one who vowed according to their ability to pay.


YHWH will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways.


Outside the sword will bereave, and in the rooms, terror on both young man and virgin, the nursing infant with the gray-haired man.


How could one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, and YHWH had delivered them up?


David struck them from the twilight even to the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped from there, except four hundred young men who rode on camels and fled.
