Ben Hadad the king of Syria gathered all his army together; and there were thirty-two kings with him, with horses and chariots. He went up and besieged Samaria, and fought against it.


The servants of the king of Syria said to him, “Their god is a god of the hills. That is why they were stronger than us. But let’s fight against them in the plain, and surely we will be stronger than they.


Ben Hadad said to him, “The cities which my father took from your father I will restore. You are to make streets for yourself in Damascus, as my father made in Samaria.” “I”, said Ahab, “will let you go with this covenant.” So he made a covenant with him and let him go.


They continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.


Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, “Y’all must not fight with anyone, small nor great, except with the king of Israel.”


After this, Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his army, and went up and besieged Samaria.


He said, “Take it.” So he reached out his hand and took it.


The man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, “Beware that you not pass this place, for the Syrians are coming down there.”


Plans are established by advice; by wise guidance you wage war!


There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against YHWH.


Y’all will devise a plan, but it will be thwarted Y’all will speak a speech, but it will not rise, for God is with us.”
