He cried against the altar by the word of YHWH, and said, “Altar! Altar! YHWH says: ‘Look, a son will be born to David’s house, Josiah by name. On you he will sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and they will burn human bones on you.’”


Joash was seven years old when he began to reign.


Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Hephzibah.


But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.


He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza, and Josiah his son reigned in his place.


From the mouths of children and nursing babies you have established strength, because of your adversaries, that you might silence the enemy and the avenger.


Woe to you, land, when your king is a child, and your princes eat in the morning!

The word of YHWH which came to Zephaniah, the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah, the son of Amon, king of Judah.


Hezekiah fathered Manasseh. Manasseh fathered Amon. Amon fathered Josiah.
