He who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders also, and those who raised the children, sent to Jehu, saying, “We are your servants, and will do all that you ask us. We will not make any man king. You do that which is good in your eyes.”


When the letter came to them, they took the king’s sons and killed them, even seventy people, and put their heads in baskets, and sent them to him to Jezreel.


In the morning, he went out and stood and said to all the people, “Y’all are innocent. Look, I conspired against my master and killed him, but who killed all these?


He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.


You say, ‘God lays up his iniquity for his children.’ Let him recompense it to himself, that he may know it.


YHWH said to Moses, “Take all the chiefs of the people, and hang them up to YHWH before the sun, that the fierce anger of YHWH may turn away from Israel.”


“Anyone who is not with me is against me, and anyone who doesn’t gather with me, scatters.


Jesus said to him, “Y’all must not hinder him, for whoever is not against y’all is for y’all.”


You must not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, YHWH your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me
