Micaiah said, “If you return-return in peace, YHWH has not spoken by me.” Then he said, “All people, y’all must listen!”


Again he sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. He answered him, “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down quickly!’”


but they mocked the messengers of God, despised ʜɪꜱ words, and scoffed at ʜɪꜱ prophets, until YHWH’s wrath arose against ʜɪꜱ people, until there was no remedy.


While he was still speaking, another came and said, “The fire of God has fallen from the sky, and has burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”


“Y’all must not touch my anointed ones! Y’all must not harm my prophets!”


A fire was kindled in their company. The flame burned up the wicked.


Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.


He answered, “Look, I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they are unharmed. The appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.”


The king commanded, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions—them, their children, and their wives; and the lions mauled them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they came to the bottom of the den.


Fire came out from before YHWH, and devoured them, and they died before YHWH.


The people were complaining in the ears of YHWH and when YHWH heard it, ʜɪꜱ anger burned. Then fire from YHWH burned among them, and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.


Fire came forth from YHWH, and devoured the two hundred fifty men who offered the incense.


They told him, “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end, and will lease out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the proceeds at harvest time.”


When his disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven to destroy them?”


After Herod searched for him but didn’t find him, he interrogated the guards and ordered that they be led away to execution. Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.


For our “God is a consuming fire.”


If anyone who wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. Anyone who wants to harm them must be killed in this way.
