YHWH, I love the habitation of your house, the place where your glory dwells.


As with a sword in my bones, my adversaries reproach me, while they continually ask me, “Where is your God?”


My tears have been my food day and night, while people ask my all day long, “Where is your God?”


For the zeal of your house consumes me. The reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.


Then Moses said to Aaron, “This is what YHWH spoke of, saying, ‘I will show myself holy to those who come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.’” Aaron held his peace.


He judged Israel twenty years in the days of the Philistines.


When he arrived, there was Eli sitting on his seat by the road watching, because his heart trembled for the ark of God. When the man came into the city and told about it, all the city cried out.


He who brought the news answered, “Israel has fled before the Philistines, and there has been also a great slaughter among the people. Your two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been captured.”


His daughter-in-law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, near to giving birth. When she heard the news that the ark of God was taken and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and gave birth; for her pains came on her.
