But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and the wall fell on twenty-seven thousand men who were left. Ben Hadad fled and came into the city, into an inner room.


They struck the remnant of the Amalekites who escaped, and have lived there to this day.


After these things King Ahasuerus promoted Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes who were with him.


“‘No one devoted to destruction is to be ransomed. They must be executed-executed.


Water will flow from his buckets. His seed will be in many waters. His king will be higher than Agag. His kingdom will be exalted.


He took it, with its king and all its cities. They struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls who were in it. He left no one remaining. As he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to its king; as he had done also to Libnah, and to its king.


Joshua captured all the cities of those kings, with their kings, and he struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of YHWH commanded.
