Let them vanish like water that flows away. When they draw the bow, let their arrows be made blunt.


As smoke is blown away, so blow them away. As wax melts before the fire, let the wicked perish before the face of God.


I will stir up the Egyptians against the Egyptians, and they will fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.


They blew the three hundred trumpets, and YHWH set every man’s sword against his fellow and against all the army; and the army fled as far as Beth Shittah toward Zererah, as far as the border of Abel Meholah, by Tabbath.


There was a trembling in the camp, in the field, and among all the people, the garrison and the raiders also trembled, and the earth quaked, so there was an exceedingly great trembling.


Then Saul said to the people who were with him, “Y’all are to call the roll and see who has left us.” When they had counted, they saw that Jonathan and his armor bearer were not there.


Saul and all the people who were with him were gathered together, and came to the battle. There they found the Philistines fighting against each other with their swords in very great confusion.
