Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen. He had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen. He kept them in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.


When Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly, and said, “Blessed is YHWH today, who has given to David a wise son to rule over this great people.”


He built twenty cubits of the back part of the house with boards of cedar from the floor to the ceiling. He built this within, for an inner sanctuary, even for the most holy place.


Within the inner sanctuary was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in width, and twenty cubits in its height. He overlaid it with pure gold. He covered the altar with cedar.

I said to them, “If it looks good in y’all’s eyes, then y’all must give me my wages. But if not, then y’all should stop.” So they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver.


Y’all must never repay evil for evil; consider what is excellent before all humans.


But to each one of us, the grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.


However, he must not accumulate horses for himself, or cause the people to return to Egypt, for the purpose of accumulating horses, because YHWH has said to y’all, “Y’all must not go back that way again.”


Finally, siblings, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is virtuous or praiseworthy, y’all should contemplate such things.
