David called one of the young men and said, “Come and cut him down!” He struck him so that he died.


Now therefore the sword will never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken Uriah the Hittite’s wife to be your wife.’


David commanded his young men, and they killed them, cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up beside the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish-bosheth and buried it in Abner’s grave in Hebron.


Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief ministers.


King Solomon was told, “Joab has fled to the Tent of YHWH. Look, he is by the altar.” Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, “Go, fall on him.”


The king said to him, “Do as he has said, and fall on him, and bury him, that you may take away the blood, which Joab shed without cause, from me and from my father’s house.


Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up and fell on him, and killed him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.


So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and he went out and struck Shimei down so that he died. The kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.


They said to him, “We have come down to bind you, that we may deliver you into the hand of the Philistines.” Samson said to them, “Swear to me that y’all won’t kill me.”


Samuel said, “As your sword has made women childless, so your mother will be childless among women!” Then Samuel cut Agag in pieces before YHWH in Gilgal.
