I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.


When God destroyed the cities of the plain, God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the middle of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot lived.


Therefore YHWH said to Solomon, “Because this is done by you, and you have not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded you, I will tear-tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.


However, I will not tear away all the kingdom; but I will give one tribe to your son, for David my servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.”


He said to Jeroboam, “Take ten pieces. For YHWH, the God of Israel, says, ‘I am about tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and will give ten tribes to you


(but he will have one tribe, for my servant David’s sake and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel),


“‘However, I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him prince all the days of his life for David my servant’s sake whom I chose, who kept my commandments and my statutes,


but I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand and will give it to you, even ten tribes.


“See how Ahab humbles himself before me? Because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days; but I will bring the evil on his house in his son’s day.”


‘For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for my servant David’s sake.’”


‘Look, the days come that all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have laid up in store to this day, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says YHWH.


Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “word of YHWH which you have spoken is good.” He said moreover, “Isn’t it so, if peace and truth will be in my days?”


However, YHWH would not destroy Judah, for David his servant’s sake, as he promised him to give to him a lamp for his children always.


you must not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, YHWH your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,
