But I say to you, that ye withstand not wrong. But if a man give thee a blow on thy right cheek, turn to him the other.


¶ Dearly beloved avenge not yourselves but give room unto the wrath of God. For it is written: vengeance is mine, and I will reward saith the Lord.


See that none recompense evil for evil unto any man: but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.


not rendering evil for evil, neither rebuke for rebuke: but contrariwise, bless: remembering that ye are thereunto called, even that ye should be heirs of blessing.


He that leadeth into captivity, shall go into captivity: he that killeth with a sword, must be killed with a sword. Here is the patience, and the faith of the saints.
