And Iesus said unto them: can the wedding children mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The time will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.


But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken from them and then shall they fast in those days.


¶ And he said unto the disciples: The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one day of the son of man, and ye shall not see it.


To whom he said: Can ye make the Children of the wedding fast, as long as the bridegroom is present with them?


¶ He spake unto them in a similitude: No man putteth a piece of a new garment, into an old vesture: for if he do, then breaketh he the new and the piece that was taken out of the new, agreeth not with the old.


The poor allways shall ye have with you, but me shall ye not allways have.


¶ Dear children, yet a little while am I with you. Ye shall seek me, and as I said unto the jewes whither I go, thither can ye not come. Also to you say I now.


I went out from the father, and came into the world: and I leave the world again, and go to the father.


¶ And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld he was taken up, and a cloud received him up out of their sight.


And when they had ordained them seniors by election in every congregation, after they had prayed and fasted, they commended them to God on whom they believed.


that is to wit Iesus Christ, which must heaven receive until the time that all things be restored again, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.


Withdraw not your selves one from another except it be with consent for a time, for to give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and afterward come again to the same thing, lest Satan tempt you for your incontinency.


in labour and travail, in watching often, in hunger, in thirst, in fastings often, in cold and in nakedness.
