¶ If ye understand these things, happy are ye if ye do them.


If I had not come and spoken unto them, they should have no sin: but now have they nothing to cloak their sin withall.


Iesus said unto them, if ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say we see, therefore your sin remaineth.


Which men, though they knew the righteousness of God, how that they which such things commit are worthy of death, yet not only do the same, but also had pleasure in them that did them.


¶ Was that then which is good made death unto me? God forbid. Nay sin was death unto me, that it might appear how that sin by the means of that which is good, had wrought death in me: that sin which is under the commandment, might be out of measure sinful.


For it had been better for them, not to have known the way of righteousness, than after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment given unto them.
