as the chief priest doth bear me witness, and all the seniors: of whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascon to bring them which were there bound unto Ierusalem for to be punished.


The king knoweth of these things, before whom I speak freely: neither think I that any of these things are hidden from him. For this thing was not done in a corner.


¶ Consider what a man this was, unto whom the patriarch Abraham gave tithes of the spoils.
