So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called, but few chosen.


For many are called, but few chosen.


Enter ye in thro' the straight gate: for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are that go in thro' it:


But beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.


And when he had called the people to him, with his disciples also, he said to them, Whosoever is willing to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.


Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.


yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you, will think he doth God service.


I have spoken these things to you, that ye may have peace in me. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but take courage: I have overcome the world.


Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith; and that we must through many tribulations enter into the kingdom of God.


And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.


Wherefore? Because they sought it, not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law: for they stumbled at that stumbling stone;
