But I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.


But wo to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites; for ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men: ye go not in, neither suffer ye them that are entring to go in.


how can ye escape the damnation of hell?


these shall receive the greater damnation.


But he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For to whomsoever much is given, of him much shall be required; and to whom they have committed much, of him they will ask the more.


Who devour widows houses, and for a pretence make long prayers; these shall receive greater damnation.


From these also turn away. For of these are they who creep into houses, and captivate silly women laden with sins, led away by various desires,


For there are many unruly vain-talkers and deceivers, especially they of the circumcision,


My brethren, be not many teachers, knowing that we shall receive greater condemnation.


Having eyes full of adultery, and that cease not from sin; beguiling unstable souls, having hearts exercised with covetousness, accursed children:


And through covetousness will they with feigned speeches make merchandize of you, whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their destruction slumbereth not.
