Now the birth of Christ was on this wise: His mother Mary, being espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.


And being warned of God in a dream, not to return to Herod, they went back into their own country another way.


And when they were gone back, behold an angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and continue there till I shall tell thee; for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.


But when Herod was dead, behold an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,


and came into the land of Israel, But having heard, Archelaus reigneth over Judea, in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither, and being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the region of Galilee.


While he sat on the judgment-seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man; for I have suffered many things to-day in a dream because of him.


But the angel answering said to the women, Fear not ye; for I know ye seek Jesus who was crucified.


And the angel answering, said to him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God, and am sent to speak to thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.


And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem,


But an angel of the Lord opened the prison-doors, by night, and bringing them forth,


Let us be glad and rejoice and give the glory to him; for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
