In your patience possess ye your souls.


For whatsoever things were written aforetime, were written for our instruction, that we, through patience and consolation of the scriptures, may have hope.


and honour, and immortality, eternal life.


But if we hope for what we see not, we patiently wait for it.


And we know, that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them that are called according to his purpose.


For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh out for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory:


Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness:


So that we ourselves glory of you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and sufferings which ye endure:


And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and the patience of Christ.


For ye have need of patience, that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise.


Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which easily besetteth us, and run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith;


That ye be not slothful, but followers of them, who through faith and long suffering inherited the promises.


That the trial of your faith, which is much more precious than gold, (that perisheth, tho' it be tried with fire) may be found unto praise, and honour, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,


and to courage knowledge, And to knowledge temperance, and to temperance patience,
