And the rest laying hold on his servants, treated them shamefully and slew them.


Wherefore behold I send to you prophets, and wise-men, and scribes; and some of them ye will kill and crucify, and some of them ye will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city:


Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost its savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men.


Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.


yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you, will think he doth God service.


But ye shall receive power, the Holy Ghost being come upon you, and shall be witnesses to me, both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.


Now there were in the church that was at Antioch, certain prophets and teachers, Barnabas, and Simeon called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene and Manaen, who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.


Now David, having served the will of God in his generation, fell asleep, and was added to his fathers, and saw corruption.


Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added daily to the church those who were saved.


And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by and consenting to his death, and kept the garments of them that slew him.


Which also I did in Jerusalem: and having received authority from the chief priests, I shut up many of the saints in prisons, and when they were killed, I gave my vote against them.


were filled with zeal, And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them into the common prison.


said, Go, stand and speak in the temple the words of this life.


When they heard this, they gnashed their teeth, and took counsel to slay them.


And to him they agreed. And having called the apostles, and scourged them, they charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.


This is he that was in the church in the wilderness, with the Angel who spake to him in mount Sinai, and with our fathers; who received the living oracles to give to us:


And hearing these things, they were cut to the heart, and gnashed their teeth upon him.


And casting him out of the city, stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man, whose name was Saul.


And the apostles who were at Jerusalem, hearing that Samaria had received the word of God, sent to them Peter and John:


And devout men buried Stephen, and made great lamentation over him.


Therefore they that were scattered abroad, went every where, preaching the word.


And Philip coming down to a city of Samaria, preached Christ to them.


Then the church through all Judea, and Galilee, and Samaria had peace: and being built up, and walking in the fear of God, and the comfort of the Holy Ghost, was multiplied.


Who knowing the righteous judgment of God, that they who do such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in those that do them.


Now I would have you know, brethren, that the things concerning me have fallen out rather to the furtherance of the gospel:


By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing him that is invisible.
