Even thus shall it be in the day that the Son of man is revealed.


And will not rather say to him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself and serve me till I have eaten and drunk, and afterward thou shalt eat and drink?


Let us walk decently, as in the day; not in banqueting and drunken entertainments, not in uncleannesses and wantonness, not in strife and envy.


For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the revelation of the sons of God.


So that ye are wanting in no good gift,


And now abide these three, faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love.


Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,


When Christ, our life shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.


And to you that are afflicted rest with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his mighty angels,


But watch thou in all things, endure affliction, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry.


Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge will render me in that day, and not to me only, but to all them likewise that have loved his appearing.


Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.


But Christ as a Son over his own house, whose house we are, if we hold fast the confidence and the glorying of hope, firm to the end.


Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil,


So Christ also, having been once offered to bear the sins of many, will appear the second time, without sin, to them that look for him, unto salvation.


who prophesied of the grace of God toward you.


And be always ready to give an answer to every one that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear:


But the end of all things is at hand; be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.


By Silvanus, a faithful brother, as I suppose, I have written briefly to you, exhorting and adding my testimony, that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand,


for your adversary the devil, walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour:


And every one that hath this hope in him, purifieth himself even as he is pure.
