“If you raced with those on foot and they wore you out, how can you compete with horses? If you are secure in a land of peace, how will you do in Jordan’s thickets?


So the chief sailor came near to him and said to him, “What, are you sleeping? Get up! Call out to your god. Perhaps the gods will consider us, so we will not perish!”


“Now while the bridegroom was taking a long time, they all got drowsy and started falling asleep.


Then He comes to the disciples and finds them sleeping; and He tells Peter, “So couldn’t you keep watch with Me for one hour?


And He was saying, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You! Take this cup from Me! Yet not what I will, but what You will.”


Keep watching and praying, so that you do not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”


Consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you may not grow weary in your souls and lose heart.
