When I think of it, I am terrified and my flesh shudders.


His thunder declares His presence, the cattle also, about what is coming.


Listen carefully to the roar of His voice, the rumbling that comes from His mouth.


Then Adonai answered Job out of the whirlwind. He said:


dread and trembling seized me, and made my bones shake.


My flesh shudders for fear of You, and I am in awe of Your judgments.


For who in the skies can compare to Adonai? Who is like Adonai among the sons of gods?


In the morning of the third day, there was thundering and lightning, a thick cloud on the mountain, and the blast of an exceedingly loud shofar. All the people in the camp trembled.


Do you not fear Me?’ says Adonai. ‘Do you not tremble in My presence?’ For I made the sand a boundary of the sea, an everlasting decree that cannot be broken. Though the waves roll, they cannot prevail. Though they roar, they cannot cross it.


I heard, and my belly trembled. My lips quivered at the sound. Decay comes into my bones. I tremble where I stand, since I must wait quietly for a day of distress to come up against the people who will invade us.


Suddenly there was such a great earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. Immediately all the doors were unlocked, and everyone’s chains came loose.


The jailer called for lights and rushed in; and trembling with fear, he fell down before Paul and Silas.


For Dan he said, ‘Dan is a lion’s cub leaping out of the Bashan.’
