I myself have seen a fool taking root, but suddenly I cursed his dwelling.


Adonai my God, if I have done this— if there is guilt on my hands,


As a dream comes with excessive burdens so a fool’s voice with too many words.


Many dreams and many words are meaningless. Therefore, fear God!


But I tell you that on the Day of Judgment, men will give account for every careless word they speak.


But I tell you that everyone who is angry with his brother shall be subject to judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca’ shall be subject to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be subject to fiery Gehenna.


Bless those who persecute you—bless and do not curse.


And the tongue is a fire. The tongue is a world of evil placed among our body parts. It pollutes the whole body and sets on fire the course of life—and is set on fire by Gehenna.


Do not repay evil for evil or insult for insult, but give a blessing instead—it is for this reason you were called, so that you might inherit a blessing.
