“Even today my complaint is rebellious; His hand is heavy despite my groaning.


Woe to me, for I sojourn in Meshech, for I dwell among the tents of Kedar!


Surely I trust that I will see the goodness of Adonai in the land of the living.


My God, my soul is downcast within me! Therefore I remember You from the land of Jordan and from the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mitzar.


For there is no memory of You in death, in Sheol who will praise You?


I am worn out with my groaning. Every night I make my bed swim, drenching my pillow with my tears.


I have sunk in deep mud, and there is no footing, I have come into deep waters, and a flood sweeps over me.


If you falter in a day of adversity, your strength is small.


thus says Adonai, the God of Israel, concerning you, Baruch: “you said:


My joy is overcome by grief, my heart is faint within me.


If only I had a travelers’ lodging place in the wilderness, then I might leave my people and get away from them! For they are all adulterers, a bunch of traitors.


From on high He sent fire into my bones and it overcame them. He spread out a net for my feet; He turned me back. He made me desolate, faint all the day long.


Let all their evil come before You. Deal with them as you dealt with me, because of all my transgressions. For my groans are many and my heart is faint!”


For though He has caused grief, yet He will have compassion according to His abundant mercies.


For this reason, since we have this ministry, just as we received mercy, we do not lose heart.


Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.


So let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we don’t give up.


But as for you, brothers, do not grow weary of doing good.
