8 So my uncle’s son Hanamel came to me in the court of the guard as was the word of Adonai, and said to me: “Buy my field, please, which is in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is yours and the redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.” Then I knew that this was the word of Adonai.

The words of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah, one of the kohanim who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin.


Now at the time the king of Babylon’s army was besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the palace of the king of Judah.


Yet You said to me, my Lord Adonai: ‘Buy for yourself the field for money and call in witnesses’—even as the city is handed over to the Chaldeans.”


‘Hanamel, son of Shallum your uncle, will soon come to you saying: ‘Buy for yourself my field in Anathoth, for the right of redemption is yours to buy it.’”


Then the word of Adonai came to Jeremiah a second time, while he was still confined in the guard’s courtyard, saying:


that Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go to the land of Benjamin to claim his property there among the people.


I did just as I was commanded: I brought out my baggage by day, as baggage for exile. In the evening, I dug through the wall with my hand. I carried it out in the darkness and bore it on my shoulder, as they watched.


It was broken on that day. The afflicted of the flock that were watching me knew that this was the word of Adonai.”


Then the father realized that it was the same hour Yeshua said to him, “Your son lives!” Now he himself believed, along with his whole household.
