So he looked, and to his surprise, there by his head was a cake baked on the hot stones and a jar of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again.


But He lifts the needy high above affliction, and makes their families like a flock.


He gives food to those who fear Him. He remembers His covenant forever.


A psalm of David. Adonai, who may dwell in Your tent? Who may live on Your holy mountain?


God girds me with strength and makes my way straight.


Behold, the eyes of Adonai are on those who fear Him, waiting for His love,


Fear Adonai, His kedoshim, For those who fear Him lack nothing.


Trust in Adonai and do good. Dwell in the land, feed on faithfulness.


He alone is my rock and my salvation, my strong tower—I will not be moved.


A prayer of Moses the man of God. My Lord, You have been our dwelling from generation to generation.


“Because he has devoted his love to Me, I will deliver him. I will set him securely on high, because he knows My Name.


But whoever pays attention to me will live securely, and be free from the fear of evil.”


One who walks in integrity, walks securely, but one who takes crooked paths will be discovered.


The Name of Adonai is a strong tower. The righteous one runs into it and is set safely up high.


For You have been a stronghold for the poor, a stronghold for the needy in distress, a refuge from the rainstorm, a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against the wall.


Though Adonai gives you the bread of adversity and the water of oppression, your teachers will no longer be hidden, but your eyes will see your teachers.


My people will live in a peaceful place, in secure dwellings, quiet resting places.


They will not hunger or thirst, nor scorching wind or sun strike them, for their compassionate One will lead them, and will guide them by springs of water.


then You will delight yourself in Adonai, and I will let you ride over the heights of the earth, I will feed you with the heritage of your father Jacob.” For the mouth of Adonai has spoken.


Then Zedekiah the king gave a command, and they committed Jeremiah into the courtyard of the guard. They gave him a loaf of bread from the bakers’ street daily, until all the bread in the city was spent. So Jeremiah stayed in the guard’s courtyard.


Adonai my Lord, is my strength. He has made my feet like a deer’s, and will make me walk on my high places. For the choir director: On my stringed instruments.

Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by Adonai, the Shield of your help and the Sword of your triumph? Your enemies will cower before you, and you will trample on their backs.”
