Thus Adonai will return his blood on his own head, because he struck down two men more righteous and better than he—Abner son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah—and killed them with the sword, without my father David’s knowledge.


For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place—but you and your father’s house will perish. Who knows whether you have attained royal status for such a time as this?”


If He puts no trust in His holy ones, if even the heavens are not pure in His eyes,


Why do the wicked go on living, growing old and increasing in power?


He allows him to rest in a sense of security, but His eyes are on their ways.


Break the arm of the wicked, evil one! Call him to account for his wickedness— until no more is found.


With the loyal You deal loyally. With the blameless You are blameless.


Surely no one who waits for You will be ashamed. But the treacherous without cause will be ashamed.


My Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue my soul from their ravages— my solitary existence from the lions.


You have seen it, Adonai—be not silent! Adonai, be not far from me.


Don’t let them say in their heart: “Aha! Just what we wanted!” Don’t let them say: “We swallowed him up!”


These things you have done— Should I keep silent? You thought I was just like you— but I reprove you, and set the case before your eyes.


Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire is devouring before Him, and it storms around Him mightily.

For Adonai your God walks in the midst of your camp, to rescue you and to give your enemies over to you. Therefore your camp must be holy, so that He does not see anything indecent among you and turn away from you.
