Since You expelled me today from the face of the ground and I must be hidden from Your presence, then I will be a restless wanderer on the earth—anyone who finds me will kill me!”


Reuben answered them and said, “Didn’t I tell you, ‘Don’t sin against the boy’? But you didn’t listen. Now, see how his blood is now being accounted for.”


This is the Book of the Genealogies of Adam: When God created Adam, in the likeness of God He made him.


How much more, when wicked men have killed a righteous person in his own house and on his bed! Should I not now require his blood from your hands and rid the earth of you?”


Now don’t let him go unpunished. For you are a wise man, and you will know how to deal with him, and bring his gray hair down to Sheol with blood.”


Now when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the royal offspring.

With it we bless our Adonai and Father, and with it we curse people, who are made in the image of God.


If anyone is meant for captivity, to captivity he goes. If anyone is to be killed by the sword, by the sword he must be killed. Here is the perseverance and faith of the kedoshim.


Thus God repaid the wickedness of Abimelech—what he had done to his father by slaying his 70 brothers.
