Adonai said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from your body will be separated. One people will be stronger than the other people, but the older will serve the younger.”


May peoples serve you and may nations bow down to you. Be master over your brothers. May your mother’s sons bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and may those who bless you be blessed.”


David continued to grow stronger, for Adonai Elohim-Tzva’ot was with him.


I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will make your name as great as the greatest on earth.


David reigned over all Israel, and David executed justice and righteousness for all his people.


Then David stationed garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and the Arameans became vassals to David, bringing tribute. So Adonai gave victory to David wherever he went


Earlier, when David was at war with Edom, Joab, commander of the army, went up to bury the slain, and had struck down every male in Edom.


He expelled from the land the cult prostitutes remaining from the days of his father Asa.


There was no king in Edom; a deputy was king.


He struck down 10,000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt, captured Sela in the battle, and renamed it Joktheel, as it is to this day.


So Adonai was with him. Wherever he went he prospered. He rebelled against the king of Assyria and did not serve him.


Then he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became vassals to David. So Adonai gave David victory wherever he went.
