Nevertheless some men from Asher, Manasseh and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.


Manasseh slept with his fathers and they buried him in his own house. His son Amon became king in his place.


He did not humble himself before Adonai as his father Manasseh had humbled himself. Instead Amon increased his guilt.


He did evil in the sight of Adonai his God and did not humble himself before Jeremiah the prophet who spoke from the mouth of Adonai.


Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word.


It is good for me that I was afflicted, so that I may learn Your decrees.


I know, Adonai, Your judgments are just. In faithfulness You have afflicted me.


Instead you must break down their ­altars, smash their pillars and cut down their Asherah poles.


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Adonai, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.


Say to the king and the queen mother: “Sit down low, for your glorious crown has fallen from your head.”


They have not become contrite even to this day, nor have they feared nor walked in My Torah, My statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.”


You heard my voice, “Do not close Your ears to my cry for relief.”

Moreover, the gift is not like what happened through the one who sinned. For on the one hand, the judgment from one violation resulted in condemnation; but on the other hand, the gracious gift following many transgressions resulted in justification.


If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
