My eye has grown dim from grief, and all my members are like a shadow.


For thou hast delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling;


Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.


O that thou wouldst slay the wicked, O God, and that men of blood would depart from me,


The Lord is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.


I cry aloud to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah


For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my misery, and my bones waste away.


Thou hast kept count of my tossings; put thou my tears in thy bottle! Are they not in thy book?


Yea, O people in Zion who dwell at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry; when he hears it, he will answer you.


and said, “Remember now, O Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in faithfulness and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in thy sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.


“Go and say to Hezekiah, Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.

In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard for his godly fear.
