And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men had built.


When he had finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.


Then Abram fell on his face; and God said to him,


And the Lord went his way, when he had finished speaking to Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.


Now when the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho saw him over against them, they said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.” And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him.


When they had crossed, Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask what I shall do for you, before I am taken from you.” And Elisha said, “I pray you, let me inherit a double share of your spirit.”


Thou gavest thy good Spirit to instruct them, and didst not withhold thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.


You and the people with you will wear yourselves out, for the thing is too heavy for you; you are not able to perform it alone.


And let them judge the people at all times; every great matter they shall bring to you, but any small matter they shall decide themselves; so it will be easier for you, and they will bear the burden with you.


and be ready by the third day; for on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.


And the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai, to the top of the mountain; and the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.


And the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord.


For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your descendants, and my blessing on your offspring.


Then he remembered the days of old, of Moses his servant. Where is he who brought up out of the sea the shepherds of his flock? Where is he who put in the midst of them his holy Spirit,


“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.


Then the Lord came down in the cloud and spoke to him, and took some of the spirit that was upon him and put it upon the seventy elders; and when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied. But they did so no more.


And the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the door of the tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forward.


With him I speak mouth to mouth, clearly, and not in dark speech; and he beholds the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”


And the Lord said to Moses, “Take Joshua the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay your hand upon him;


And when Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was upon the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim; and it spoke to him.


No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, the Son of man.


Now this he said about the Spirit, which those who believed in him were to receive; for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.


But you are not in the flesh, you are in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.


Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God.


Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.


Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brethren, love one another earnestly from the heart.


It is these who set up divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.


Then the spirit of the Lord will come mightily upon you, and you shall prophesy with them and be turned into another man.
