So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.


The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.


And when the Lord smelled the pleasing odor, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done.


Hark, glad songs of victory in the tents of the righteous: “The right hand of the Lord does valiantly,


The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to naught; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.


I will thank thee for ever, because thou hast done it. I will proclaim thy name, for it is good, in the presence of the godly.


My soul is feasted as with marrow and fat, and my mouth praises thee with joyful lips,


Thou didst crush Rahab like a carcass, thou didst scatter thy enemies with thy mighty arm.


Thou hast a mighty arm; strong is thy hand, high thy right hand.


O sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have gotten him victory.


Now I know that the Lord is greater than all gods, because he delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians, when they dealt arrogantly with them.”


Behold, the Lord God comes with might, and his arm rules for him; behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.


Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not thou that didst cut Rahab in pieces, that didst pierce the dragon?

Or has any god ever attempted to go and take a nation for himself from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, and by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the Lord your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?


Likewise you that are younger be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”


so shall her plagues come in a single day, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she shall be burned with fire; for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.”
