For your lifeblood I will surely require a reckoning; of every beast I will require it and of man; of every man's brother I will require the life of man.


Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for God made man in his own image.


Does not calamity befall the unrighteous, and disaster the workers of iniquity?


On the wicked he will rain coals of fire and brimstone; a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.


For he who avenges blood is mindful of them; he does not forget the cry of the afflicted.


He will bring back on them their iniquity and wipe them out for their wickedness; the Lord our God will wipe them out.


The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is caught in the toils of his sin.


For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.


When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer. Though he has escaped from the sea, justice has not allowed him to live.”


Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.


that the violence done to the seventy sons of Jerubbaal might come and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, who slew them, and upon the men of Shechem, who strengthened his hands to slay his brothers.


And when the men of Israel saw that Abimelech was dead, they departed every man to his home.


and God also made all the wickedness of the men of Shechem fall back upon their heads, and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.
