19 And the Lord was with Judah, and he took possession of the hill country, but he could not drive out the inhabitants of the plain, because they had chariots of iron.

Take counsel together, but it will come to naught; speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.


“Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanu-el” (which means, God with us).


What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us?


I can do all things in him who strengthens me.


No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you.


Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”


So now give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke on that day; for you heard on that day how the Anakim were there, with great fortified cities: it may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall drive them out as the Lord said.”


So the Lord was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land.


Therefore the people of Israel cannot stand before their enemies; they turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become a thing for destruction. I will be with you no more, unless you destroy the devoted things from among you.

Then the people of Israel cried to the Lord for help; for he had nine hundred chariots of iron, and oppressed the people of Israel cruelly for twenty years.


Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with him but had departed from Saul.


And David had success in all his undertakings; for the Lord was with him.


And David went out and was successful wherever Saul sent him; so that Saul set him over the men of war. And this was good in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul's servants.
