There the prisoners are at ease together; they hear not the voice of the taskmaster.


Can you bind him in the furrow with ropes, or will he harrow the valleys after you?


When she rouses herself to flee, she laughs at the horse and his rider.


to whom I have given the steppe for his home, and the salt land for his dwelling place?


He ranges the mountains as his pasture, and he searches after every green thing.


Go now, and work; for no straw shall be given you, yet you shall deliver the same number of bricks.”


For thus the Lord said to me, As a lion or a young lion growls over his prey, and when a band of shepherds is called forth against him is not terrified by their shouting or daunted at their noise, so the Lord of hosts will come down to fight upon Mount Zion and upon its hill.


‘Why have we fasted, and thou seest it not? Why have we humbled ourselves, and thou takest no knowledge of it?’ Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure, and oppress all your workers.
