My days are past, my plans are broken off, the desires of my heart.


then he opens the ears of men, and terrifies them with warnings,


he keeps back his soul from the Pit, his life from perishing by the sword.


For every matter has its time and way, although man's trouble lies heavy upon him.


The haughty looks of man shall be brought low, and the pride of men shall be humbled; and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.


The Lord of hosts has purposed it, to defile the pride of all glory, to dishonor all the honored of the earth.


Therefore I will hedge up her way with thorns; and I will build a wall against her, so that she cannot find her paths.
