she called to the men of her household and said to them, “See, he has brought among us a Hebrew to insult us; he came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice;


Then she laid up his garment by her until his master came home,


but as soon as I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment with me, and fled out of the house.”


When Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, “Is it you, you troubler of Israel?”


The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows, to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those who walk uprightly;


by the noise of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked. For they bring trouble upon me, and in anger they cherish enmity against me.


“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.


“You shall not utter a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man, to be a malicious witness.


Truthful lips endure for ever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.


A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who utters lies will not escape.


A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who utters lies will perish.


A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin.


Then the high priest tore his robes, and said, “He has uttered blasphemy. Why do we still need witnesses? You have now heard his blasphemy.
