36 “The Lord will bring you, and your king whom you set over you, to a nation that neither you nor your fathers have known; and there you shall serve other gods, of wood and stone.

And the rest of the people who were left in the city and the deserters who had deserted to the king of Babylon, together with the rest of the multitude, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried into exile.


And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was taken into exile out of its land.


Therefore the Lord brought upon them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh with hooks and bound him with fetters of bronze and brought him to Babylon.


The people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and made him king in his father's stead in Jerusalem.


Therefore he brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or aged; he gave them all into his hand.


He took into exile in Babylon those who had escaped from the sword, and they became servants to him and to his sons until the establishment of the kingdom of Persia,


Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters to take him to Babylon.


And some of your own sons, who are born to you, shall be taken away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”


I will make you serve your enemies in a land which you do not know, for in my anger a fire is kindled which shall burn for ever.”


therefore I will hurl you out of this land into a land which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you shall serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.’


In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and all his army came against Jerusalem and besieged it;

“As for you, O house of Israel, thus says the Lord God: Go serve every one of you his idols, now and hereafter, if you will not listen to me; but my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts and your idols.


And the Lord will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other; and there you shall serve other gods, of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known.


and you have seen their detestable things, their idols of wood and stone, of silver and gold, which were among them.


And the Lord will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the Lord will drive you.


And there you will serve gods of wood and stone, the work of men's hands, that neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.


But if you still do wickedly, you shall be swept away, both you and your king.”
