Thou didst ascend the high mount, leading captives in thy train, and receiving gifts among men, even among the rebellious, that the Lord God may dwell there.


Therefore I will divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.


Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house.


And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.


but when one stronger than he assails him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoil.


concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.


When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished”; and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.


Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power.


But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.


In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of God.


that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places.


Therefore it is said, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.”


For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.


for in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.


and you have come to fulness of life in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.


Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same nature, that through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil,


And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.


and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulphur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
