16 by hindering us from speaking to the Gentiles that they may be saved—so as always to fill up the measure of their sins. But God's wrath has come upon them at last!

“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.


And at the latter end of their rule, when the transgressors have reached their full measure, a king of bold countenance, one who understands riddles, shall arise.


“For behold, the day comes, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble; the day that comes shall burn them up, says the Lord of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.


“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.


Then he goes and brings with him seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. So shall it be also with this evil generation.”


Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.


And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come.


And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet.


His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the granary, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”


He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.


But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with jealousy, and contradicted what was spoken by Paul, and reviled him.


But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, and stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district.


But Jews came there from Antioch and Iconium; and having persuaded the people, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.


But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brethren.


When an attempt was made by both Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to molest them and to stone them,


But when the Jews of Thessalonica learned that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Beroea also, they came there too, stirring up and inciting the crowds.


but when some were stubborn and disbelieved, speaking evil of the Way before the congregation, he withdrew from them, taking the disciples with him, and argued daily in the hall of Tyrannus.


and they have been told about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or observe the customs.


When it was day, the Jews made a plot and bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.


The Jews also joined in the charge, affirming that all this was so.


And the chief priests and the principal men of the Jews informed him against Paul; and they urged him,


And when he had come, the Jews who had gone down from Jerusalem stood about him, bringing against him many serious charges which they could not prove.


And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”


When many days had passed, the Jews plotted to kill him,


just as I try to please all men in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.


But if I, brethren, still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? In that case the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.


So I ask you not to lose heart over what I am suffering for you, which is your glory.


To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,


and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.


and with all wicked deception for those who are to perish, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.


who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.


But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed; its end is to be burned.


Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”
