The wisdom of a prudent man is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving.


In those days Peter stood up among the brethren (the company of persons was in all about a hundred and twenty), and said,


But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to thy saints at Jerusalem;


Does not nature itself teach you that for a man to wear long hair is degrading to him,


Come to your right mind, and sin no more. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.


Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise.


We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute.


I do not write this to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children.


When one of you has a grievance against a brother, does he dare go to law before the unrighteous instead of the saints?


If then you have such cases, why do you lay them before those who are least esteemed by the church?


If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives to all men generously and without reproaching, and it will be given him.
