Thou my sure portion art alone, which I did chuse, O Lord: I have resolv'd, and said, that I would keep thy holy word.


Thou didst me answer in the day when I to thee did cry; And thou my fainting soul with strength didst strengthen inwardly.


I cry'd to thee; I said, Thou art my refuge, Lord, alone; And in the land of those that live thou art my portion.


My fortress is the Lord, My rock, and he that doth to me deliverance afford: My God, my strength, whom I will trust, a buckler unto me, The horn of my salvation, and my high tow'r, is he.


Wait on the Lord, and be thou strong, and he shall strength afford Unto thine heart; yea, do thou wait, I say, upon the Lord.


For ills past reck'ning compass me, and mine iniquities Such hold upon me taken have, I cannot lift mine eyes: They more than hairs are on mine head, thence is my heart dismay'd.


Lord, thee my God, I'll early seek: my soul doth thirst for thee; My flesh longs in a dry parch'd land, wherein no waters be:


My thirsty soul longs veh'mently, yea faints, thy courts to see: My very heart and flesh cry out, O living God, for thee.
