In my distress to God I cry'd, and he gave ear to me.


I to the hills will lift mine eyes, from whence doth come mine aid.


I joy'd when to the house of God, Go up, they said to me.


O thou that dwellest in the heav'ns, I lift mine eyes to thee.


Had not the Lord been on our side, may Israel now say;


But in all those that do him fear the Lord doth pleasure take; In those that to his mercy do by hope themselves betake.


We rise, and upright stand, when they are bowed down, and fall.


O Lord, I trust in thee: My God, let me not be asham'd, nor foes triumph o'er me.


God good and upright is: the way he'll sinners show.


The Lord's my light and saving health, who shall make me dismay'd? My life's strength is the Lord, of whom then shall I be afraid?


The Lord redeems his servants' souls; none perish that him trust.


God in the midst of her doth dwell; nothing shall her remove: The Lord to her an helper will, and that right early, prove.


The heathen rag'd tumultuously, the kingdoms moved were: The Lord God uttered his voice, the earth did melt for fear.


He only my salvation is, and my strong rock is he: He only is my sure defence; much mov'd I shall not be.


How long will ye against a man plot mischief? ye shall all Be slain; ye as a tott'ring fence shall be, and bowing wall.
