As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.


And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.


and to clothe yourselves with the new self, created according to the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.


These have indeed an appearance of wisdom in promoting self-imposed piety, humility, and severe treatment of the body, but they are of no value in checking self-indulgence.


Beloved, I urge you as aliens and exiles to abstain from the desires of the flesh that wage war against the soul.
