The Lord thundered from heaven; the Most High uttered his voice.


Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations of the heavens trembled and quaked, because he was angry.


At your rebuke they flee; at the sound of your thunder they take to flight.


And he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; he flashed forth lightnings, and routed them.


Then the channels of the sea were seen, and the foundations of the world were laid bare at your rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.


Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations also of the mountains trembled and quaked, because he was angry.


His lightnings light up the world; the earth sees and trembles.


On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, as well as a thick cloud on the mountain, and a blast of a trumpet so loud that all the people who were in the camp trembled.


Now Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke, because the Lord had descended upon it in fire; the smoke went up like the smoke of a kiln, while the whole mountain shook violently.


The brightness was like the sun; rays came forth from his hand, where his power lay hidden.


At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, and the rocks were split.


And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.


Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple; and there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.


After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority; and the earth was made bright with his splendor.


Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sat on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.


“Lord, when you went out from Seir, when you marched from the region of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens poured, the clouds indeed poured water.
