It happened, late one afternoon, when David rose from his couch and was walking about on the roof of the king's house, that he saw from the roof a woman bathing; the woman was very beautiful.


Do not cover their guilt, and do not let their sin be blotted out from your sight; for they have hurled insults in the face of the builders.


For their sake he remembered his covenant, and showed compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love.


Our ancestors, when they were in Egypt, did not consider your wonderful works; they did not remember the abundance of your steadfast love, but rebelled against the Most High at the Red Sea.


But you, O Lord my Lord, act on my behalf for your name's sake; because your steadfast love is good, deliver me.


Deal with your servant according to your steadfast love, and teach me your statutes.


The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made.


Answer me when I call, O God of my right! You gave me room when I was in distress. Be gracious to me, and hear my prayer.


Do not, O Lord, withhold your mercy from me; let your steadfast love and your faithfulness keep me safe forever.


But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house, I will bow down toward your holy temple in awe of you.


Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.


But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord. At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love, answer me. With your faithful help


Answer me, O Lord, for your steadfast love is good; according to your abundant mercy, turn to me.


Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he in anger shut up his compassion?” Selah


I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.


I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.


Look down from heaven and see, from your holy and glorious habitation. Where are your zeal and your might? The yearning of your heart and your compassion? They are withheld from me.


I will recount the gracious deeds of the Lord, the praiseworthy acts of the Lord, because of all that the Lord has done for us, and the great favor to the house of Israel that he has shown them according to his mercy, according to the abundance of his steadfast love.


Yet you, O Lord, know all their plotting to kill me. Do not forgive their iniquity, do not blot out their sin from your sight. Let them be tripped up before you; deal with them while you are angry.


Although he causes grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love;


Incline your ear, O my God, and hear. Open your eyes and look at our desolation and the city that bears your name. We do not present our supplication before you on the ground of our righteousness, but on the ground of your great mercies.


To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him,


Repent therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out,


erasing the record that stood against us with its legal demands. He set this aside, nailing it to the cross.
